EFF sues feds tell us how you use Facebook for cyberstalking

The EFF, with the help of a group at the UC Berkeley Law School, has issued a series of Freedom of Information Act requests to federal agencies, asking for their policy on the use of social media content during investigations.

Having received no response, they're now taking six government agencies to court.
