Naturally, music can and should question the existing social order.
But as big a fan as I have been of the Clash, the Gang of Four, and even the Tom Robinson Band, structural changes in economic systems do not usually flow directly from music.
One must also remember that for most of music history, musicians, en masse, made very little money. There was an anomaly in the sixties that convinced musicians and labels that they could all get rich. N
