Amazons 189 Kindle sells out

If you think Apple and its iPad have killed the Kindle, think again.

It turns out that a recent price cut to Amazons entry-level e-reader has been met with tremendous success. Sales were so strong that Amazon completely sold out of its $189 model!

SmartQs highly unlikely iPad killer

Late to the touchscreen MID party, Chinese manufacturer SmartQ spent the month of April touting its new R7 e-reader as -- you guessed it -- the iPad killer. With the same ol' 600MHz ARM11 and 256MB of RAM inside as its ho-hum MIDs, that claim's quite a stretch.

Samsung Unveils eReader Partnering with Google

South Korean electronics giant Samsung jumped into the increasingly crowded electronic book reader market Wednesday, unveiling its first devices and a partnership with Google Books.
